Texas farmers harvested 950,000 acres of sorghum for grain and 175,000 acres of sorghum for silage in 2022, resulting in the production of more than 50 million bushels of sorghum for grain and more than 2.6 million tons of sorghum for silage. The state ranks No. 1 in the nation for production of sorghum for silage and No. 2 for production of sorghum for grain.
